About Us

We are Hannah & Kéran – an Aussie & French couple.

We met while working in a hotel in Brisbane, Australia in 2022, and have been inseparable ever since.

We quickly realised that we share the same aims in life – to see as much of the world as we can, and experience and learn from cultures and communities different from our own. We love sharing – food, stories, and of course, travel information which you will find plenty of on this blog! We want to encourage and empower you with our honest travel content to explore places you might not have considered before.

We’ve both travelled abroad as solo travellers, moving from our home countries (Hannah in 2016 to the UK, and Kéran in 2022 to Australia). However, in December 2023, we hit the road together this time! We sold our possessions and worked round the clock to save as much money as we could and get this blog up and running. Join us on our socials as we share our day to day adventures with you!

We aim to bring a fresh perspective to content creation through storytelling and our individual personalities, in the hope of encouraging others to have the confidence to do the same.

We are so excited to connect and share with you all, and please do introduce yourselves in the comments too!

Places We Still Dream of Visiting

What does Nowhere Particular mean?

The name refers to the deep desire we both felt to experience something different from home. We have a crazy passion to see and learn from the world – it doesn’t matter where exactly we are going, it only matters that we start moving! If you’ve ever felt that burning desire for adventure, or even wondered what life would be like if you chose a different path, you might know what we are referring to…

In fact, the name for this blog came about in 2017. More on that below.

Hannah

I’m a twenty-something gal from Brisbane, Australia. My loves include thrifting, learning languages, Soviet-era history, and true crime. I left home at nineteen and moved alone to the UK to work in gastropubs. It was here that my die-hard passion for backpacking kicked off, and I visited 63 countries during that time, mostly as a solo female traveller.

I actually started this blog back in 2017. I registered the domain, purchased hosting, and started building the pages. I learned editing on Lightroom and had a full library of content ready to go. Before publishing my first post I panicked, and deleted everything. I was terrified of diverting from the ‘normal’ pathway and security of school – university – career and being a failure. So, just before Covid, I returned home to Australia to resume my university studies.

During these last few years, I was in travel hibernation, working and studying full time. With the corporate job and qualifications to boot, I realised I was completely lying to myself. The main part of me was completely suppressed. Now, it’s time to take the plunge for real and live a life I can be excited about again. I’ve rebuilt this blog from scratch – and this time I’m bringing you along for the ride!

About Us Keran

Kéran

I’m a twenty-something boy who hails from a tiny village outside Paris. From my twenties I’ve searched for my purpose in a few different directions – from Cinema School to working in Real Estate – I spent all my money in clubs or on complete setups for streaming video games. This is what my life looked like before; finding an obsession, and changing it each season. The only unchanging element has been my extreme passion for sharing video-stories.

I was working in Paris when Covid hit, so our jobs changed drastically to endless at-home Excel and Teams chat. After a few months I decided to quit everything and uproot my ass to an English-speaking country far enough away that I couldn’t step back easily. I booked a one way ticket to Australia on a Working Holiday Visa, and the rest is history.

I want to take the adventurous part of myself and share with you a bit of humour and great videos. As French is my first language, you might need to adjust to my version of English 🙂
